ALEXANDRIA, Va. (MarketWatch) — The day was perfect. Not a cloud in the sky, and the historic Potomac River shimmered with a blue that would bring tranquility to the minds of the most overstressed executive.
Unable to find the place where George Washington allegedly threw a dollar across the river, we took an in-depth look at the new Honda Accord. We think G.W. would have kept that dollar, added a few more to it, and happily driven the new Accord for a couple hundred thousand miles if he had the chance. (Would it not be cool if his first stop were lunch at the Watergate a few miles up river?)
Honda has come up with another solid winner in its 2008 Accord.

In September this year, the new 2008 Honda Accord will hit showrooms. The hybrid version of the popular midsize sedan though will not be making an appearance as Honda announced that it will be discontinuing the production of its Honda Accord Hybrid units. A spokesman for the company announced the news following the sales report of the company in the United States which reflected the dwindling sales figures of the hybrid.
“We have found that our hybrid system works better on smaller cars,” says Chris Naughton speaking for the second largest Japanese car manufacturer.

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are considered as zero emission vehicles. These vehicles combine hydrogen fuel and oxygen from the air to produce water and electricity. The electricity is then used to power the electric motor which powers the vehicle.
Honda motors has developed a concept fuel cell car called the “Honda FCX” which will become a limited production car in 2008. Honda has equipped the FCX with a fuel stack and an ultra capacitor along with high pressure hydrogen tanks. The fuel cell stack serves as the main power source while the ultra capacitor serves as the storage unit for supplemental power.
